DM Healthcare has announced its first pilot healthcare project in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand with the launch of a mobile medical clinic in the area. An initiative of DM Foundation, the CSR and charitable vertical of DM Healthcare, the mobile clinic will offer the services of a doctor and paramedic along with free medication. The initiative is in line with the Group’s aim towards reaching the peripheries of rural India to offer primary healthcare facilities to the people. DM Healthcare has associated with The Human Welfare Foundation (HWF) as part of the Vision 2016 program in India and Almanar Voluntary Organization, a non-governmental non-profit organization, to launch this initiative in Jamshedpur.
The mobile medical clinic by DM Foundation was launched by Mr. Arviind Kumar Singh, MLA of Ichagarh Constituency, Jamshedpur, Captain Amitabh, Sports Head at TATA Steel, Ms. Farzana Khatoon, Councilor of the Ichagarh area of Jamshedpur and senior representatives of DM Healthcare.
Commenting on the initiative, Padma Shri Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman, DM Healthcare, said, “Some of the rural districts of India have very little access, if at all, to primary healthcare facilities. We deemed it necessary to invest in these areas to establish a medical network that will benefit the people. We have received wonderful support from the non-government organizations to launch this project in the region. We aim to soon develop this initiative further to create a network of mobile health centers that will penetrate deep into the peripheries of rural India offering the necessary medical facilities to people who really need it.”
“DM Foundation wants to get involved in activities that are aimed towards helping people. This activity is a small initiative towards that end. The project will be taken further into other Indian states,” Dr. Moopen added.
The first mobile medical clinic will circle around the deeper districts of Jharkhand to identify people who are in need of medical help. The people, if required, will be transported to hospitals in the city for further medical attention.
The initiative, which is part of DM Healthcare’s Community Good Health Programme by DM Foundation, is aimed at providing quality healthcare to the people. The undertakings of the Group are guided by their maxim of ‘Care Beyond Boundaries’, based on the promise and commitment to make a difference in society.
